It’s ten ten on a Friday, a warm October Friday at that. What better thing to do than to take a business trip out of town. Pack snacks, grab our right hand man and go. One bus trip from PA to the big apple, New York! Now go on: Sing the song by Alicia Keys when you say New York – the tone had to beam in, right. This year, Maryam’s Mark and Company took the bus ride along the Peter Pan for a few hours of fun at New York Comic Con, one of the biggest comic book related conventions known to mankind. Spectators from all over came to network, collect, be fans and even attend screenings. There were cosplayers galore and even hip hop celebrates were in attendance of this fantastic family friendly event. Along our travels, we stopped by Planet Hollywood’s red carpeted event. Crunchyroll hosted Tokyo Ghoul, is a Japanese dark fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Sui Ishida, which is in its second season. Although we did not stop to watch Tokyo Ghoul, due to the different venue location, there were plenty arriving to watch. We walked off to NYCC, meet with crowds of cosplayers and we too were ready to mask up and play.

William Moore, one of our security and creative advisors attended New York Comic Con for the first time. He was in awe, wish we could have stayed longer. Moore said he was wowed by this fantastic event. Moore excited explained “I can’t believe how many people are here at this event! But I can believe it. Next year, we are in here ready with a table!” He was in shocked to see the mass amount of participants, waiting patiently to attend the night movie showings. Everyone sitting down in lines waiting to enter the stage. He saw Nas was on the list of attendees and on Saturday, at another venue WuTang had a concert. Moore said New York is the city that doesn’t sleep and Gotham City’s building, located only a block or so from the center is the silverling! Batman and Joker and an Atomic Comic car – what more do you need to have a great time besides more time at conventions such as this! Moore expressed next year he hopes to see more people he knows and encourages them to join the Reedpop experience.
